Today, urban tree management requires more than planting and pruning trees. For better planning and management in the medium and long term, multiple tools and disciplines are also required. This presentation will show how tools based on ecology, economics, and other disciplines can contribute to the sustainability of trees. Examples of applied ecology and economics will be presented and how they can provide tools, guidelines and policies to promote the benefits of urban forests.
Hoy en día el manejo del arbolado urbano requiere más que plantar y podar árboles. Para mejor planificación y gestión a medio y largo plazo también se requiere de múltiples herramientas y disciplinas. Esta presentación mostrara como herramientas basadas en la ecología, economía, y otras disciplinas pueden aportar a la sostenibilidad del arbolado. Se presentarán ejemplos de la ecología y economía aplicada y como estas pueden aportar herramientas, lineamientos y políticas para promover los beneficios de los bosques urbanos.
