ASCA 2025 Consulting Academy
There’s Only One Place to Get Started on the Path Toward Your RCA
A lot of conferences claim to teach you how to be a great arborist. But there is only one conference where you can learn the essentials of being a successful Consulting Arborist AND begin the process of becoming a Registered Consulting Arborist® (RCA)—and that’s ASCA’s Consulting Academy.
During the Academy’s multi-day training you’ll not only take your first step toward becoming an RCA, but also:
- Learn from and interact with leading experts in the profession.
- Form relationships with other attendees and coaches that you can access long after the Academy is over.
- Increase your earning potential.
- Have the opportunity to be paired with a seasoned RCA Ambassador to guide you along your RCA journey.
ASCA's Consulting Academy is limited to just 80 attendees and sells out quickly.
The 2025 Consulting Academy topics include:
- Standards of Professional Practice
- Forensics
- Report Writing
- Legal Aspects of Consulting
Pre-Academy Work
Once registered for the conference you will receive a homework packet to complete prior to the Academy. Please note that the information covered in this packet could appear on the exam. It is important to take the time to work through all aspects of it prior to arrival and bring any questions you may have to your coach. The packet includes:
- Pre-Academy Report: You will receive a pre-determined scenario to use in preparing a written report, which you are expected to submit prior to the Academy. Your practice report will be reviewed but not graded. It is sent to your coach so that they can review it and understand your current report-writing skills. You will also use it during the report-writing session at the Academy and during your one-on-one conference with your coach.
- Practice Management Webinars: Included in your registration fee! You will be provided access to a series of 1-hour online webinars that focus on important practice management topics: contracts, insurance, and determining your fees.
- Pre-Academy Question and Answer Packet: You will be provided an example of multiple test questions which you should attempt to answer. The packet will also include the answers along with an explanation.
Graduation Requirements

- An open-book written exam, given on the last day of the Academy.
