  • 9:30 am – 10:20 am: “Process and Keys of a Pre-Climb Inspection” – [English AND Spanish] - Fred Frey
  • 10:30 am – 11:20 am: “Caring for Heritage, Part 1: Managing a Veteran Collection of Cemetery Trees” – Josh Gevertz, Arboretum Director
  • 11:30 am -12:30 pm: LUNCH (PROVIDED)
  • 12:30 pm – 1:20 pm: “Forces and Trees” - David Vega and Ben Clemens 
  • 1:30 pm – 2:20 pm: “Plant Health Care – Methods of Proactive Stewardship” - Wister Dorta

Day 3: Saturday September 14: CypressFest Tree Climbing Competition – 30 attendees max / 3.0 CEUS (climbers and judges only)

  • 7:30 am: Registration and sign-in
  • 8:00 am: Welcome and Introductions – Josh Gevertz, Arboretum Director, Cypress Lawn Arboretum and Memorial Park, Colma, CA
  • 8:30 am – 11:30 am: CypressFest Tree Climbing Competition (30 competitors, in standard rotation through 5 TCC events)
  • 11:30 am - 12:30 pm:  LUNCH (PROVIDED)
  • 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm: CypressFest Tree Climbing Competition (continued)
  • 3:00 pm: CEU sign-out for climbers and judges only
  • 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm: optional Arboretum tour w/ Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz (1.5 optional CEUS)
