Course Information
This 3-day course and exam is open to interested parties who meet the prerequisites (see Tree Risk Assessment Qualification Application Guide) and is limited to 20 arborists (first-come/first-served). The qualification consists of a 2-day educational course followed by a 1/2 day assessment that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the course and successfully complete the assessment in order to receive this qualification.
Registration closes on October 17, 2025 or when class is filled. All payments are due at the time of registration. Cancellation/refund requests must be submitted by October 17, 2025. All applications will be reviewed for approval. Your registration will be finalized via email. NO REFUND OR TRANSFER WILL BE GRANTED AFTER OCTOBER 17, 2025

What to bring to class:
- Your government-issued photo ID
- Hard hat and high-visibility vest or shirt (Needed on Day 2)
- #2 pencils and clipboard for taking notes
- Rain gear, including large zip-lock bag
Please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors; we cannot always control the room temperature to suit everyone. Come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors.
Confirmation Packet: ISA will email you a digital copy of the TRAQ Manual prior to the course. The workbook will be provided to you during check-in on the first day.
Prerequisites:
To earn a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification you must hold or have held one of the following prerequisites. Please indicate which prerequisite(s) can be used to verify your eligibility:
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE TO ISA TRAQ ELIGIBILITY:
- If you do not hold an ISA Credential nor was ever TRAQ qualified - YOU CANNOT REGISTER FOR THIS TRAQ WORKSHOP.
- You must go to My ISA > ISA Credentialing in your ISA Account and submit your eligibility directly to ISA to be approved. If you do not have an ISA account - you will need to create an account.
- This will take you to the application page. You can select TRAQ and you will upload your application here.

For non-ISA credentials, please submit a copy of a certificate, credential identification card, diploma, or similar documentation.
- Current ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified holder registering to re-qualify
- ISA Certified Arborist Number
- ISA BCMA Number
- Society of American Foresters (SAF) Certified Forester
- Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Traditional Forestry, or Horticulture Degree from an accredited college or university
- Others listed in the TRAQ application guide
