This workshop will demonstrate everything you need to know about working with cranes! We'll explain design strengths and weaknesses of different types of cranes. Jobsite setup requirements and the key information a crane company must know before sending a crane to a job. We'll cover what's in a typical crane rental contract and what your promising to provide when you sign and the Cal OSHA laws most pertinent to our type of work. You'll watch videos of crane accidents and apply what you have learned in a group discussion of what when wrong and what could have been done differently then we will summarize a 20 year study of over 1,000 crane accidents by Dr. Wiethorn and Professor Fernanda Leite. We will cover basic rigger techniques of boxed trees and B&B Palms followed by an outdoor demonstration with Senna Tree Companies largest and smallest cranes. A 2018 Grove GMK 5150 (175 ton) and 2015 Manitex 3051T (30 ton) boom truck.
